If you're looking for an authentic, family-run Mexican restaurant with heart, Los Chilitos is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of this family business made it clear that we were in for a special dining experience. The son was our waiter, greeting us with a smile and genuine hospitality. The little brother was helping dad in the back, and mom was busy ensuring everything was running smoothly--every member of the family playing a role, making sure that every detail of the meal was just right. It's rare to see such a close-knit family working together like this, and it added a personal touch to our visit that you can't find at most restaurants. One thing that stood out was how they kept the experience fun and engaging. While we were waiting for our food, they brought over a cup full of crayons and invited us to draw on the tablecloth. It's a simple touch, but one that added a lot of fun to the experience--especially for the kids, but honestly, we all got into it! It's a great way to pass the time while enjoying the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We decided to ask them to bring out two of their favorite dishes, and we were in for a treat. The Chili Relleno was everything you want in a classic Mexican dish--crispy on the outside, stuffed with perfectly seasoned filling, and drizzled with just the right amount of sauce. The Chili Quilles, a flavorful twist on the traditional chilaquiles, were equally delicious, with layers of flavor and just the right balance of spice. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, and you could tell they were made with love and care. Along with the entrées, they also brought out some warm, crispy chips and fresh salsa for free, which was a great way to start the meal. The chips were crispy and salty, the perfect accompaniment to the vibrant, flavorful salsa. The soup they served as a starter was a comforting, flavorful bowl of goodness--rich and hearty, it was the perfect way to kick off the meal. Every dish that came out was thoughtfully prepared and had us asking for more. And I can't forget to mention the horchata. So many places either make it too sweet or too bland, but at Los Chilitos, it was absolutely perfect. It had the right balance--sweet, but not overpowering, with a smooth, creamy texture that paired beautifully with the meal. It was the kind of drink that left you feeling refreshed and satisfied after each sip. Los Chilitos is more than just a place to eat; it's a true reflection of family, tradition, and authentic Mexican flavors. From the amazing food to the attentive service, this is a restaurant that really takes pride in what they do. If you're craving a warm, welcoming atmosphere and some of the best Mexican food around, Los Chilitos should be at the top of your list. I can't wait to return and try more of their amazing dishes. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love dining here or grabbing food to go. The service is always top notch and the quality of the food is always on point! The ambiance and atmosphere of this restaurant is always on point and consistent. My new favorite thing to order is the machaca breakfast burrito. If you are a fan of the frozen shredded beef and cheese chimichangas then this dish is for you. The machaca (shredded beef) is sooo good. I ordered it just as is, but I think next time I'm going to ask if they can add cheddar cheese instead and fry it to give it that same chimichanga texture. Thank you again for the incredible food! Definitely will be back!

We're driving around in S. El Monte, when we stumbled across this place. I tried the mole chillaquilles and some cafe De olla. No regrets here. The food and the cafe was great. The chillaquilles were crunchy, the mole was just the right spice, not too spicy and not too sweet. The cafe didn't need any creamer. It's wasn't bitter and not too strong. The place is a bit on the small size but the wait wasn't long. They had us seated in 15 min, which was less than the 25 minutes they had anticipated. Service was friendly. They brought us chips and salsa while we waited for our food, which wasn't a long wait. Would definitely come back.

We were craving good homemade style Mexican food after volunteering at the Food Bank in the City of Industry. Yelp helped us discovered Los Chilitos in nearby South El Monte. Food was absolutely delicious and service was very friendly! Although the fajita wasn't served on a cast iron pan, but I'm okay with it. What matters is how it tastes. Tender beef slice and shrimp wasn't rubbery. The seasoning was perfect with the sauté vegetables. Chile Verde was a generous portion with nice chunks of meat. I feel cheated when some restaurants serve tiny pieces of meat. Nachos were very yummy with all the trimmings. If I'm ever in the area again I'd definitely return! It was one of those days I really wanted a cerveza, but Los Chilitos don't carry alcohol. I ended up getting one from 7-11 and chugged it before going into the restaurant.

This place is a hole in the wall indeed. If you're even thinking of going, GO! You won't be disappointed. The service is fast, and very nice people working here!! Makes you feel right at home. I am really happy to have came here and tried their camarones con Salsa macha. The food is very delicious, not greasy or heavy, they serve a good plate that can feed 2 with 1 plate. I also tried the pepino con limón drink and man this place is very delicious. I come from Long Beach and the chef was told that and he was so kind to even make me a French toast dish so I can try it on my way back home. Im really glad I tried this spot , I will keep coming back indeed without a doubt.

We were looking for a local spot for breakfast and I'm glad we found this one because the food was delicious. I ordered the carne asada plate with cafe de olla and a side of chile relleno. The carne asada was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The rice and beans were solid and the chile relleno was phenomenal. The cafe de olla was also really good and a great Mexican dining experience. I'd definitely come back again to try their other menu items. Also solid customer service and an overall solid breakfast.

Second visit here in less than one month. This place is a MUST!!! The food is amazing, if you want authentic Mexican food..... this is the place. Service was great as always, the waitress sat us down and took our orders right away. This is food for groups of 4 or less. Ambiance: The place was busy, everyone was having their own convos. Once again casual vibes. We love this place
